I started writing a rather lengthy note about the power of singing together… but alas, I realized I’d probably be preaching to the choir. So.. I’ll cut right to the chase with you on this.
I want to encourage you to host a public sing-along or caroling event in your home, work place, school or community this holiday season.
Working as the event coordinator for this year’s World Singing Day global sing-along event this past October, I witnessed first hand, the joy that takes place when people gather to sing together to celebrate our common humanity. Sometimes, (actually, more often than not!) we should all sing just for the joy of it!
To get started with your holiday sing-along, download my song sheets or slideshow and you’ll be ready to have an instant holiday karaoke party. Use your imagination and get your community singing together.
Happy Holidays and stay ENTHUSIC out there!
Educators: It's so important to get our communities singing together for fun every now and then and as educators, it's good to remind our students, and their parents, that singing doesn't always need to be about performing. Let your imagination run wild. Walk the streets downtown. Walk the halls of the hospital. Ask your choir members to host a holiday sing-along the week before break as a recruitment tool.
In the workplace: Gentle remind your boss that teams accomplish more when they incorporate the arts into our work and their daily schedules.

COME AND SING TOGETHER!
People ask me all the time, how it is that I can work all year on a project that only lasts one day. Well, there is actually a ton of work that goes on behind the scenes when you are coordinating a global event like World Singing Day coming up on Saturday, October 20, 2018. This year, I've had the pleasure of working with an incredible team of people all over the world. My days have been filled with emails and texts and skype sessions and my heart has been filled with gratitude for each of these fabulous people. Let me introduce you to them.
Scott Johnson is the founder of World Singing Day.
Peter Sharp is the founder of The Liberators and has helped us spread WSD around the globe this year.
Sue Ross is the founder and director of Choirs4Kids and Vivid Voices singing groups in Australia. This year, she started the WSD Australia website and helped coordinate events all over Australia.
Christos Pantazis is the co-founder of Oxygenna and the creator of our amazing World Singing Day website.
Sridhar Ranganathan is the CEO and founder of the Shankar Mahadavan Academy, Cloodon, Meghshala & Shrenis. Sridhar has been a WSD board member since the very beginning.
Paul Andrews is the founder of The Bridge Studios. Paul helped us record and master the 2018 Song of the Year, Ode to Song.
Jeff & Paige are some of Boulder’s favorite kids musicians and eco-educators. This year, they will be kicking-off our Sing Along Boulder Festival at the epicenter of World Singing Day.
These people are making a difference in a big way. The work they are doing fosters love and kindness in our world and for that I am truly thankful.
I hope you will join this year’s World Singing Day social music initiative. Learn more here.
Calling all humans!* (*Don't worry if you can't sing.)
No audition, no solos, no sheet music, no worries…just fun!
ONE SONG SING-ALONG
Saturday, October 20, 2018
6:30 p.m. Check-in
7:00 p.m. One Song Sing-along begins
8:30 p.m. You're already heading home with a sizeable grin
This event is all about the camaraderie, the atmosphere and the music. After 60 minutes of crazy learning, we will put 3 part harmony together for the song “This is Me!” from The Greatest Showman, perform it twice and immortalize it in a video so others can see and feel our enthusiasm forever.
I'm thrilled to be working alongside
Scott Johnson (founder of World Singing Day)
& Mark Oblinger (Jumpin' Jazz Kids & Firefall)
for this new pop-up choir event as part of the
Sing Along Boulder Festival,
celebrating World Singing Day.
Don't miss the public sing-along, Sing Along Boulder,
down on Pearl Street that same day
from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
