If you're going to be working with kids this summer, here are a few of my favorites!
My heart grew a bunch last Friday when I received a video of the song "There's a House in the Middle of the Town" from a group of school children in Austria. They tackled this challenging add-on song in English and really nailed it! Keep up the good work!
I had such a lovely evening out at our local State Park last week. The skies were filled hazy from smoke blown in from the western states. The sun was a rosy pink.
Sitting together around the campfire, I met Lynda Stern and her two year old grand daughter. During our conversation, I found out that she plays guitar and her grand daughter and her sing together as often as possible. The guitar went into her hands and as we sang harmonies together, the songs ranged from The "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to "How Much is that Doggie in the Window." It was a magical evening for me. There is just nothing better than singing harmonies with someone you've just met. We both knew the 'language' of music and shared some smiles as we listened to each other's dialects and vocabulary.
So thankful there are people in the world like Lynda. She is sharing a love of music with the next generation. Keep it up!
Hope to see you around the campfire again sometime,
So thrilled to be heading up into the beautiful Rocky Mountains this weekend with family and friends. We're packin' the canoe and the guitars and we're even bringing along some extra props for some improv this year! (More on that in a few weeks! ) I hope you all have managed to sneak in some time away this summer. If your family is similar to ours, you live close to areas that other people vacation to but don't find yourself visiting them as often as you'd like. I'm so glad to have friends that set the dates on their calendar a year in advance. They stay up until midnight to reserve the campsites six months ahead. Those are committed campers! Thanks my friends.
During my Enthusic studio days, I've been busy prepping a revision of a musical, a duet for an upcoming wedding, leader trainings and new products coming this Fall. Stay posted!
